Traditional volleyballs apparently have 18 panels. The Mikasa MVA200 volleyball, which they are using in the Olympics, only has 8 panels, which allow for greater hand contact on the ball, a better feel, and therefore greater accuracy and control. According to Wired, the Mikasa also sounds different when you hit it; it doesn't "have the same satisfying pop as a traditional volleyball." It can crank out 18 laser-quality black and white pages a minute, and 12 color pages a minute, and can also handle borderless 4" x 6" color prints, but its footprint is small enough (16.6" wide and 5.5" deep) so you can stash it on a bookshelf or under your desk, saving work surface area for more important things like coffee cups... more
