Poor Design Mars a Good Idea
This is the fourth or fifth Spacemaker coffee maker we have owned. Prior models featured a shorter unit overall, making more usable space underneath, but we were glad to see that Black & Decker returned to the glass carafe (the model immediately prior... read entire review
- Pros: Space saving design, timer function, glass carafe.
- Cons: Difficult installation, routinely leaks, sometimes vomits.
- The Bottom Line: We can no longer recommend the Spacemaker coffee makers as poor design outweighs any benefits.

UPDATED REVIEW 01/18/08: I've owned the Spacemaker for 4 1/2 months, and it just quit. No lights, no coffee, nothing! Sorry folks, I hereby withdraw my recommendation for this product. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I went looking for another Spacemaker... read entire review
- Pros: Good-looking Spacemaker fits under the cabinet.
- Cons: Hard-to-read indicators. Mounting bolts go up into the cabinet.
- The Bottom Line: I'm done with this product. When all is said and done, I can't afford to buy a new coffeemaker every few months.

We have had many Black and Decker under the counter coffee makers over the years which, first off, tells you they don't last that long. The latest one has been a disaster from day one. When you put the glass carafe in, the mechanism kicks out the... read entire review

Same problems as above. This is my 2nd black and decker spacesaver, the first was the smaller one with the thermas caraf. I loved it but had to leave it at my old house. So I bought the black bigger one (12 cup) to match my new decor. However, I miss my... read entire review

Black and Decker undercounter coffee maker
I hate this coffee maker. If it was not more trouble than childbirth, I'd take it down and take a sledge hammer to it. Do not buy it. 1.The clock is NOT lit up, so you have to grab a flash light to read the time. Lovely :) 2. It leaks all the coffee... read entire review
- Pros: The coffee is warm and fresh for many hours
- Cons: Too many to list.

I bought two of these brand new and both were defective. What are the chances two in a row would be broken? Talk about cheap quality!! First one worked once, then the display went dead so I returned it. Second one has a display that works, but it... read entire review
- Pros: Wish I could find another black or stainless space saver
- Cons: Doesn't work.

Bought 2nd one and its as bad as the 1st one
Loved the space saving design, no problems installing it. Problems started on first one w/in a week, it'd overflow periodcally than just stopped working altogether. Bought another one, worked great the first two weeks, than "SURPRISE" it started... read entire review
- Pros: wonderful spacesaving idea. We fixed the problem by snapping off the "sneak a cup" feature.
- Cons: defective design. I am very tired of cleaning up all the coffee grounds.

Black & Decker Coffee Pot ODC440
We have had 3 of these in the family, 2 of the 3 leaked all the time when the basket was filled. All 3 went up within a year, one of them only lasted 6 months. The mounting left the bolts sticking up in our cabinet, since they bolted straight up into... read entire review
- Pros: Sleek design, loved the black color.
- Cons: It leaked and then only lasted 6 months before it went up.

I love the idea - hate the coffee pot. I bought it because I like the removable and fill-able tank. However, the tank leaks if you fill it to 12 cups. The most irritating thing of all is that the coffee pot drips when pouring. There is coffee all... read entire review
