Anderson's club, The Velvet Lounge, which he started in 1982, has become a Chicago landmark for the jazz and experimental music scenes for both musicians and fans, and continues to host regular jam sessions after relocating in the summer of 2006. "We are losing the art of improvisation. I've dedicated my whole life to improvisation -it's an art form. Guys can play all night and every night and never play the same thing twice -there's an ART to it. Charlie Parker is the finest example, as I've been researching - those musicians trusted each other. That's the way we created these recordings, right in the studio, we trusted each other. You got to pretty much know what you're doing, and know where you are at all times, that's called concentration. You should expect your brass instruments to have, or develop, an attractive antique patina. However, if you prefer the high shine look we recommend Brasso (TM) as a good polish.

Select Grenadilla body with metal lined tenon sockets and silver plated posts, bands, and bell ring. Stainless steel arbors and wire springs. Nickel silver keys with 18% nickel silver hinge tubing and heavy silver plating. Full conservatory system plus third octave key and low B vent key. Cork pads on low C and above. Teflon tipped stainless steel adjusting screws. Each instrument comes with two standard Fox Model XL English horn bocals (numbers 2 & 3). Accessories include a French-style double or single instrument case per customer's specification, reed and reed case, screwdriver, silk swab and cork grease.
