The former lead vocalist for Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes left that group in 1976 for a solo career that would see him rise to the top of the R & B charts for decades to come with top 10 hits like "Close the Door", "Turn Off the Lights" and "Love TKO". His tender ballads and ever so sensual vocals found him as one of the leading vocalists of the 70s, 80s and into the 90s and even a tragic car accident in 1982 could not slow him down. Although confined to a wheel chair, he managed to record and perform until his passing in 2010 at age 59. These are 12 newer recorded versions of some of his biggest hits.
