Inspired by the original Dungeon Explorer on TurboGrafx-16, this DS update features the same hack-and-slash style of play with local wireless support for up to four adventurers. The 3D dungeons are viewed from an overhead perspective on the touch screen, while the top screen displays both a character's inventory and a map of the surrounding area. Taking place hundreds of years after the events chronicled in the PSP game, Warriors of Ancient Arts on DS has players trying to vanquish the undead minions of the Demon God. Three races and three classes are included for newly created heroes, with hundreds of upgradeable weapons, armor, and equipment available throughout multiple monster-filled dungeons. Further character customization is possible by mastering over 60 ancient arts spread across eight distinct schools. Each art imbues party members with specific fighting skills, allowing them to become more proficient in combat. The underlying objective is to restore tranquility to Westoria Kingdom by defeating the Demon God and his lethal legion.
