K2's Potion 90Xti Women's Ski should be used in moderation or you'll end up feeling dizzy, slightly confused, and smiling from ear to ear without quite being sure why; it's a heady blend of all-mountain performance, versatility, and power that's capable of ripping the resort to shreds or venturing through the gates to enjoy a tasty bite of untracked snow. It looks a lot like touring ski, with a blunt gradually rockered tip, a mostly flat tapered tail, and low camber underfoot, but it's built like a frontside ripper, with a sheet of metal on top of the strong and lively aspen, paulownia, and maple core. It also was built with K2's Baseline 2. 0 Freeride Stability profile, which carefully matches the sidecut and camber profiles to provide easy float and turn initiation in the tip, predictable mid-radius turns underfoot, and solid hold and turn finishing through the tail. The Potion's biggest trick, though, is its A. T. Rox technology. There's a MOD suspension system on top of the ski--K2 calls it a secondary core--that flexes independently, dampening the feel of the Potion and giving it a smooth, quiet ride without affecting the ski's actual flex. The MOD system works in conjunction with the Carbon Web layer, which is laid over the top of the entire package to increase torsional rigidity and direct power to the edges for aggressive turning when you run into hardpack. The Potion also comes with durable Hybritech sidewalls and tip and tail skin attachment grommets, so you can strap on some K2 skins and go hunting for fresh turns outside the resort boundaries if you're feeling a little exploratory.

You should be careful with the K2 Potion 98Ti Women's Ski, because it'll either turn you into a toad or into the best ripper this side of Alaska--either way, it's a dangerous thing. It's light but powerful, thanks to a core that combines aspen, paulownia, and stiff maple, and has a metal laminate laid over the whole package to let you rally at speed without feeling wiggly, waggly, or wobbly. K2's All-Terrain Rocker features a tapered, rockered tip and tail to keep you nimble as a one-eyed cat in tight trees and narrow chutes, but blends it with underfoot camber for a strong, powerful, and aggressive feel when you need to lay down an edge to blast down open faces or fresh groomers. K2 built the Potion with Baseline 2. 0 Freeride Stability, which carefully matches the sidecut and rocker profiles to provide strong, consistent skiing through whatever conditions you find yourself in. The slow rise of the rockered tip planes through deeper snow and allows for easy turn initiation, while the low rocker in the blunt tail provides you with strong turn finishing and stability at speed. Both the tip and tail are tapered for better soft-snow performance, and the Hybritech construction actually rolls the top of the ski into the sidewalls for a bombproof feel that doesn't get hung up rocks, trees, and your inside edge like traditional vertical sidewalls. The Potion also has built-in tip and tail attachments for K2 skins, so you don't have to waist any precious time fiddling with your gear at the trailhead.
