Endangered Species Chocolate
Last night we had a Serious Chocolate Craving, which prompted an emergency run to Safeway, where we happened upon Endangered Species chocolate bars. The chocolate is delicious (we chose the chimpanzee smooth dark chocolate bar) and supports a great cause: Each variety of chocolate is wrapped in colorful packaging that increases awareness of a different endangered species, and 10% of the sale of each bar goes to organizations working to save those species. Plus the company's organic cacao comes from the Dominican Republic, where workers are paid a fair wage and have humane working conditions. Hooray for more excuses to eat chocolate!
