Expansive sound from a compact footprint. The Griffin Evolve is a wireless iPod speaker system with 3 parts: A charging base and two 5.5" cube-shaped speakers, each with its own on/off switch, that can be moved up to 150 feet away from the base station, so you can put them wherever you want and get real stereo sound. Griffin just announced several new speaker systems, including the Amplifi, which has an iPod dock on top, but accepts audio input from almost any source through its built-in 3.5mm (1/8") jack. Before you plunk down $300 for the Bose SoundDock, take a look at the new Altec Lansing inMotion iM7 iPod speaker. Plug it in at home, or run it on batteries on the road. It provides excellent sound, and the video output function lets you display your iPod Photo albums on a TV. (Dock-connecting iPod not included). All this for about $50 less than the SoundDock.
